Padel balls are not cheap — especially when you are playing multiple times a week. Making your balls last longer is not just about saving money. It is about getting consistent performance from your equipment for as long as possible.
Store Them Correctly
Temperature and humidity are the biggest enemies of padel ball longevity. Always store your balls at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. A cool, dry place is ideal.
Avoid leaving balls in a hot car or outdoor bag for extended periods. The heat causes the internal pressure to drop faster, making the balls go flat sooner.
Use a Pressuriser
A ball pressuriser is a tube or container designed to maintain internal pressure when the balls are not in use. By storing your PINQ padel balls in a pressuriser between sessions, you can significantly extend their playing life.
For regular players who use the same balls across multiple sessions, a pressuriser is one of the best small investments you can make.
Rotate Your Balls
If you have multiple sets of balls, rotating between them spreads the wear more evenly. Rather than using one tube until it is completely dead, alternating between two or three tubes keeps them all fresher for longer.
Know When to Replace Them
Even with the best care, padel balls eventually lose their bounce and feel. Signs that your balls need replacing include: a noticeably lower bounce, a duller sound when struck, and visible wear on the felt surface.
Using flat or worn balls affects your timing, control, and the quality of your sessions. When in doubt, it is time to open a fresh tube.
Match the Ball to the Surface
Indoor and outdoor courts wear balls differently. Outdoor courts, especially those with aggressive artificial turf, strip the felt faster. If you play mostly outdoors, factor this into how often you replace your balls and consider having a separate set for indoor sessions.
